B i o g r a p h y
Eden Miller is a Minnesota flutist with a bachelor's degree in music performance from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She holds a MM in Performance from the University of Wyoming as well, and now attends the University of Kansas, pursuing a Ph.D. in Musicology. She is an avid performer and researcher and enjoys sharing her music through teaching. Her primary research interests include women in American music, as well as video game music. Eden has presented at numerous conferences including the SHE: Festival for Women in Music, Music and the Moving Image, the Asian Classical Music Initiative, and the American Musicological Society. Her principal teachers include Dr. Nicole Riner (University of Wyoming), Dr. Paula Gudmundson (University of Minnesota Duluth) and Roma Duncan (Minnesota Orchestra--Piccoloist).
Ms. Miller has taught flute lessons throughout her collegiate career. Additionally, she briefly taught Introduction to Music at the University of Wyoming. Whether she is teaching flute or academic based music courses, she tries to instill an appreciation and passion for researching, listening to, and performing music in her students through blending historical context and critical listening skills in her lesson plans.
